Dr Alastair McGibbon, Head of Collaborative R&D at the Compound Semiconductor Applications (CSA) Catapult.

Alastair has over 35 years experience in the advanced electronics R&D, both in academia (Glasgow, Cambridge and the US) and industry (Singapore and the UK)

He has spent much of the last 15 years working across UK Advanced Electronics Supply Chains helping to build UK capability and capacity, building bridges between academic research and industrial exploitation.

In his current role at the CSA Catapult, he has a strong focus on helping companies in Advanced Communications, Power Management for Net Zero and Intelligent Sensing by exploiting cross-sectoral opportunities for non-silicon-based electronics systems.

Fun Fact: I Walk. A lot. At least 10 miles a day if I can.
